Challenges for all ages!
Reading matters no matter what your age! We have challenges for readers and listeners ages 0 to 109. Look below to see which one is right for you. You can click on the pictures to see the paper version of each challenge.
Zookeeper Edition: For family readers, ages 6 and under, this challenge is a fun, easy way to keep young children engaged in reading, books, and words. All you do is count the books anyone reads to your child.
African Safari Guide Edition: This is a challenge for those ages 6 to 9 who are still pretty new to reading on their own. We are on the search for some fun tales and wild tails in Africa. But to find them we need a safari guide. Can you help? All you have to do is read.
Amazon Safari Guide Edition: This is a challenge for those ages 9 to 12. We are on the search for some fun tales and wild tails in the Amazon Rainforest. But to find them we need a safari guide. Can you help? All you have to do is read.
Deep Sea Diver Edition: For teens including those just a few months shy of age 13 who are going to be 7th graders in the fall, we invite you to dive into the depths of a good book and some silly fun with us this summer. All you have to do is read. Reading hours will mean silly little prizes for you but real money for a new library for Berryville. Please help!
Jungle Survivor Edition: This challenge is for all ages 18 and up. Reading is important for your brain too! Summer reading challenges add silly fun into the mix as you model great reading habits for all the young people in your life and in our community. It also helps raise more money for our new library.
$15,000 for the new library just for reading?
Yes! The Squires Family has challenged us to do it again. Read 15,000 hours in just 8 weeks and they will match each hour read with $1.
That means $15,000 for the Berryville Library Building Fund!
We did it last year by shattering all of our reading records from previous years. Can we shatter last year’s record of 15,343?!?
We need everyone to commit to go wild for reading with us!
There’s more to explore at the library!
We will be crafting, gaming, making, gathering, talking, laughing, solving, building, cooking, and so much more at the library all summer long. We hope you join us for some in-person fun and festivities.
