THANK YOU, BERRYVILLE!

We weren’t sure we could beat last year’s record, but, thanks to all our friends, near and far, we blew it away! 576 people logged 19,955 reading hours between June 7 and July 30.  It is an all-time high for our summer reading program. We are impressed.

BIG THANKS TO THE SQUIRES AND ALLEN FAMILIES!

We are grateful to the Squires and Allen families for issuing this year’s summer reading challenge and agreeing to match every hour read with $1 for the Berryville Library Building Project. We thought 15,000 hours, two years in a row, would be a stretch. We were wrong. We are so thankful for your generosity and good spirits. All 19,955 hours will be matched. That’s $19,955 raised for the new library!

SAY THANKS TO THESE LOCAL BUSINESSES!

We could not offer all the fun little treats and incentives that help keep everyone motivated to read all summer long without the generosity of so many local businesses.  We appreciate all the support these businesses show our community.  Let’s support them and, while you are there, let them know you love the library too!

  • Daylight Donuts
  • Garner’s Drive Inn
  • Pizza Hut
  • Shaved Ice Paradise
  • Sonic
  • Subway
  • Taco Bell
  • Taqueria Navidad

KEEP EXPECTATIONS HIGH!

We will as we start dreaming of Summer Reading 2022.  We are sure there will be waves of fun. We are not sure if there will be another matching challenge.  But, with or without it, wouldn’t it sound great to be able to say we read 25,000 hours in one summer?  That’s 1,500,000 minutes…but who’s counting?!?

READ ON BERRYVILLE AND WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE LIBRARY REAL SOON!
