Storywalk returns on June 4!

Dive into your summer at the 2^nd Annual Berryville Library Storywalk & 2022 Summer Reading Kickoff on Saturday, June 4!

Walk to raise money for the library!

Declare your kind: pirate or merfolk. Then see what adventures await as you travel 25,000 leagues under the sea. You’ll collect a story card at each station so you will have a tall tale to tell when you make it back to shore!

Walkers of all ages are invited to participate. The walk will be held outside on the grounds of the Berryville Community Center from 8 AM to 12 PM, rain or shine. The course is approximately 1 mile in length with 5 check-in/story stations along the route. Refreshments and first aid supplies will be available at each station.

To raise money for the library, ask family and friends to sponsor your adventure by pledging money per station or just a flat donation. You can also simply sponsor yourself. We encourage you to get as many sponsors as you can as all money collected will go to the Berryville Library Building Fund and help put us one step closer to our new library!

All walkers who complete the course will receive a sweet treat as a thank you for the participation. Walkers raising $30 or more in donations will earn a special, one-of-a-kind thank you gift from the Friends of the Berryville Library.

Registration can be done individually or as a family unit. Walkers under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Individual walkers under the age of 18 must have their registration form signed by a parent or guardian.

Don’t want to walk?

No worries. You can still come out and help us start the summer with a bang.

There will fun activities, a place to register for this summer’s reading challenge, even Molly Sroges, Berryville’s own professional storyteller, sharing tall tales from the sea.

Remember, summer reading is for all ages, too.  And all who register for summer reading at the Storywalk will earn a sweet treat, too!

You can still join in on the fun and help the library by seeking sponsors and registering as a non-walker.
