Storywalk on July 31!

Are you a tortoise or a hare? Do you want to take the fast track or the slow lane? What adventures await you as you race through the African savanna, the Amazon rainforest, and across the deep, blue sea? 

Come be part of the Inaugural Berryville Library Storywalk at the 35th Annual Berryville Ice Cream Social presented by Tyson and create your own tale as you help raise funds to build the new library. Walkers of all ages are invited to participate.

Where?

The walk will be held outside at the Berryville Community Center on July 31, 8 AM to 10 AM.  The course is approximately one mile in length with five check-in/story stations along the route. Refreshments and first aid supplies will be available at each station.

How?

Registration can be done individually or as a family unit. Walkers under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Individual walkers under the age of 18 must have their registration form signed by a parent or guardian. Registration forms can be picked up at the library or downloaded HERE.

There is no entry fee to participate, however, we encourage all registrants to seek sponsors. Sponsors are family or friends willing to pledge money for the successful completion of the one-mile adventure. Walkers can also simply sponsor themselves.  Walkers can have as many sponsors as they can find.

Why?

For showing their support of the new library project, all walkers who complete the course will earn a free scoop of ice cream at the Ice Cream Social as a thank you for their participation.

Walkers raising $30 or more in donations will earn a special, one-of-a-kind thank you gift from the Friends of the Berryville Library.

When?

The Storywalk will be held on Saturday, July 31, from 8 AM to 10 AM. The event will be held rain or shine.

You do not need to register in advance. Walkers should bring their completed registration/pledge form to the Starting Station near the front entrance of the BCC between 8 AM and 9:30 AM on July 31. Groups of walkers will be set to start approximately every fifteen minutes. The last group of walkers will be sent out at 9:30 AM.
