Silent Auction Part of July 8th Festival

Posted on June 30, 2023

A silent auction of peace-themed baskets and other family-friendly fun items will be a main feature of the Friends of the Berryville Library’s Peace, Love, and a New Library Fundraising Festival on Saturday, July 8. The Festival will be held from 11am-2pm at the Berryville City Pool Park. Tickets are only $5 for adults and $3 for those ages 3-17 and include a sack lunch and three game tickets. Tickets are on sale at the Berryville Library or can be purchased at the event.

The silent auction will feature baskets full of fun and useful items for lovers of dogs, gardening, barbecuing, reading, local authors, coffee, tea, and more.  All baskets are at least a $50 value. In addition to the baskets, there will be a chance to bid on a river float trip, donated by Carroll County Broadcasting, as well as a few unique 60s-themed items. Below are some close-up pictures of a few of the baskets that will be available.

Bidding begins at 11am and will close at 1:45pm. Winning bidders will need to be present to take their baskets home from the event or have made prior arrangements to pay for and pick up the basket. For more information about the silent auction or to make a bid even if you are not able to attend the event, contact Kristy Tesch at (870) 654-6565.

In addition to the silent auction, the Festival will feature live music, carnival games, a dessert walk, and a sack lunch, which includes a famous Luther Burger, chips, drink, and a mini cupcake.  Held in honor of the International Day of Peace and Love, the Festival will include a cupcake toast to the universe, a custom started by Ringo Starr at 12 noon.

This is a family-friendly event with fun for all ages.   Bring a lawn chair and some extra money to purchase additional game tickets or some special swag and enjoy the day while helping raise money for a new Berryville Library.
