Want some adventure in your life? We have free, fun adventures on stage, in the parks, and with art this month. Plus, some family fun! Check out the calendar and join us when you can!

Both Opera in the Ozarks and Trike Theater will be live on stage in Berryville this month! Both performances are free!

Opera in the Ozarks will be at the Berryville High School Performing Arts Center on Monday, July 8, at 1 PM to present Little Red’s Most Unusual Day. This unique theatrical adventure will be a mash-up of a classic fairy tale with classic operatic melodies. While marketed as their “children’s” show, it is sure to be a joy to watch at any age!

Trike Theater from Bentonville will be at the library on Tuesday, July 9, at 10 AM to present Dog’s Job. This show is designed to be intimate, interactive, and honestly reflect the experience of our 2–5-year-olds. Children in the audience will be invited to be involved in the storytelling process as well as develop their ability to watch the actors play out the story. Dog’s Job is about friendship, being there for someone when they are feeling scared and sad and identifying our own unique talents. Everyone in the family needs a job!

Family Game Night is back on Saturday, July 13.

Families of all sizes and ages are invited to come play some games together with us. There will be a wide assortment of tabletop games to choose from featuring boards, dice, or cards. There will be roll-and-move games, roll-and-write games, push-your-luck games along with a few dungeon-crawlers, area control, or even some dexterity games. This is the perfect way to try a new-to-you game out! Play only the type of games you want. Play with your family members or challenge others to a board game duel.

And there will be free pizza for all!

Playing in and with water is one way to stay cool in the heat of July!

Dive into some fun times as the Berryville Library and the Berryville Parks Department present this year’s Dive-In Movie at the City Pool on Saturday, July 20. The featured presentation is Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Swimming starts at 6 PM. Movie will start when dark. It’s all free fun for everyone!

Note that the rain date for this event is Saturday, July 27.

Explore all the ways you can have some fun in the water by tackling this month’s Fun Card.  Complete it and return it to the library by July 31 for a small but special reward. There is no age limit on the benefits of play, this could be fun for everyone!

It is not too late to sign up for a summer reading challenge. We have self-paced reading challenges for all ages. You read what, when, and how much you want.  Reading to others and listening to audiobooks count, too. Great rewards for your brain and for our community (we aren’t exaggerating, click on the links to see). There are smaller, silly prizes to claim as well, if you sign up and report your reading hours to the library by July 26.
