COVID-19 Service Update: New Hours and Access

Starting May 26, we are entering Phase 2 of our reopening plan.  Hours will increase and limited access to the building will be allowed, but with restrictions. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience these cause but appreciate everyone working with us to keep our community safe and COVID free!

Expanded Hours

Library service hours will be Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM; Saturday, 9 AM to 1 PM.

Monday – Friday, 9 AM to 1 PM we provide curbside service only.

Monday – Friday, 1 PM to 6 PM, and Saturdays, the building is open by appointment.

Curbside Service Mornings

During the mornings, we will continue to offer our contactless curbside service. 

This is the best option for people who want to minimize their potential exposure to COVID-19 or are in one of the categories the CDC has identified as being at higher risk for severe illness from this virus.

Our staff will be inside the building and able to help via phone, email or Facebook Messenger. Items you request will be pulled for you and brought out the back door while you wait in your car.  Items can be returned in the drop box that is located to the left of the doors as you enter the building.

If you need help with copies, printing, or faxing during these hours, please enter the lobby and knock on our doors. Staff will determine how best we can help you while minimizing human-to-human contact.

Appointment Afternoons & Saturdays

During the afternoons and on Saturdays, the building will be open by appointment.

Appointments are necessary because only 10 people can be allowed in the building at one time and all people who enter must sign in, to allow for contact tracing by the Health Department. All sign-in sheets will be kept strictly confidential unless needed by the Health Department and shredded after 14 days.

Appointments are limited to one hour per patron per day.

Appointments can be made to use the computer or to browse and check out items.

If you think you may need extended help with copying or faxing, please consider making an appointment.

Appointments are taken up to one week in advance.

Appointments are offered on the hour only.

During this time, drop-in visitors will be served, as space in the building allows. If you are coming to the library without an appointment, please be aware that you may be asked to wait at the door until people exit the building.

Safety Requirements & Restrictions

While in the library you must wear a face mask and practice social distancing.

Hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the building, for your use and convenience.

Returned items will continue to be quarantined and disinfected per national and state health guidelines and recommendations for public libraries.

Fines & Fees

Fines will continue to be waived until the library is able to resume normal operations and there are no requirements to quarantine returned items.

We will also continue to waive fees for services like copies and faxes as the staff will not be handling cash.

Checks will be accepted to pay off large fees for previously accumulated fines or to replace items you have lost. Cash donations to the library can be placed in the donation jars on the front counter.

Programs

No in-house library programming is allowed but we are offering summer reading challenges and a variety of Programs On The Go this summer.  Please check our program calendar or call the library for more information.

Free Books

The Friends Book Sale is ongoing in our front lobby.

The shelves in the lobby are stocked with used books of all types as well as a few donated DVDs, music CDs, and audiobooks.

While we normally ask for donations for these items, you may take some for free if you need them during these uncertain times.
