COVID-19 Service Update: Back to Curbside Only

Posted on June 14, 2020

Starting June 15, we are returning to Phase 1 of our reopening plan.  Hours will remain the same as in Phase 2 but the building will be closed to the public and services will be limited to those we can provide through contactless curbside service.

These changes have been implemented due to the closing of all county buildings because of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Carroll County and the surrounding area. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We appreciate everyone doing their part to stop the spread of this virus so that all our lives can return to normal as soon as possible. Stay safe, wear a mask, and wash those hands!

Hours

Monday – Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM

Saturday, 9 AM to 1 PM

Curbside service is back!

While you are not able to come into the library, staff is inside and able to help via phone, email or Facebook Messenger.

Items you request will be pulled for you and brought out the back door while you wait in your car.

Items can be returned in the drop box that is located to the left of the doors as you enter the building.

Not sure what to request?

If you are not sure of what items you would like, please come into the lobby.

Library staff can pull a browsing cart up to the glass doors and help you select items that way.

You can also request library staff to create a reader’s or viewer’s advisory report for you.  This is a list of other authors or titles you may like, based on the reading or viewing preferences you share with us.

Need copies, prints, or faxing?

We can still help with all these needs.

Please call or enter the lobby and knock on our doors. Staff will determine how best we can help you while minimizing human-to-human contact.

Wi-Fi is available!

Unfortunately, we are not able to allow people in the building to use the public computers.

But our Wi-Fi is available, 24-7.  It is accessible in our parking lot and the garden behind our building.  Please call the library if you need the password.

Remember we also have hotspots available to check out. These hotspots provide unlimited, high-speed internet wherever you are.  Please call the library for more information.

Fines & Fees

Fines will continue to be waived until the library is able to resume normal operations and there are no requirements to quarantine returned items.

We will also continue to waive fees for services like copies and faxes as the staff will not be handling cash.

Checks will be accepted to pay off large fees for previously accumulated fines or to replace items you have lost. Please let the staff know before dropping a check into the drop box.

Returned items will continue to be quarantined and disinfected per national and state health guidelines and recommendations for public libraries. This means items will stay on your account for 7 days after being returned.  Be assured no fines will accumulate on these items.

Summer Reading Challenge is still on!

All our Program On The Go events and Summer Reading Challenges are still going on as planned.  Please read and log those hours so that we can reach our 10,000-hour goal.  That will be $10,000 for the Berryville Library Building Fund!

Free Books

The Friends Book Sale is ongoing in our front lobby.

The shelves in the lobby are stocked with used books of all types as well as a few donated DVDs, music CDs, and audiobooks.

While we normally ask for donations for these items, they are available to take for free while the library building is closed to the public.

Questions?

Please call the library. We are here to help!
